Lee-Salter Professor John Mark Robeck New Testament Survey-Extra Credit Essay 21 September 2017 My Personal Experience with Christ First, I would like to start off by saying that “YES”, I have accepted Christ into my life as my lord and personal savior. Romans 10:9 says, “[t]hat if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” I can relate to this form of text because, I have committed myself to Christ, and have dedicated my personal time and energy to him by praying and reading his word daily. God is and will always remain first priority in my life. Despite the many situations, issues, dramas, and traumatizing events that may occur in my life, I always give God one hundred percent in all that I do. I’ve learned to worship God in very difficult times, because despite what I may go through as a young African American female Christian, God is still in control, and is worthy to be praised. So, my journey as to becoming a Christian has been a very rocky and bumpy type of situation. Just to give some background information, when I was born, I was passed around and wasn’t secure in a safe family-oriented environment. I eventually ended up with my grandmother, and her family, and then she began to grow ill, so she had passed me onto her daughter and her husband, which are my parents of eighteen plus years. They both had spouses,
