1 Identify at least three strategies that you can implement today to increase your level of success in the situation you most identify with. There are several strategies that I could implement in my daily routine to help increase my level of success in completing school, are setting challenging and meaningful goals, disputing negative thinking and deliberately practicing positive self-talk, and visualizing future success. Our textbook states, setting realistic goals that are specific and challenging yet achievable more successfully motivate workers to perform their best. (Youssef & Noon, “Setting Expectations, para. 9) My main goal in life is to complete school, since neither of my brothers went to college after high school. The challenging and meaningful goals I set for myself, as a student, is by having a plan each week, and dates of deadlines of items to accomplish to make thing less stressful than waiting until the last minute to do assignments. In our textbook it states, that having agency (willpower) and pathways (waypower) is important in achieving goals that are realistic, but challenging. (Youssef & Noon, 2012) The main reason for this, goal to be meaningful is because I would have time to spend the rest of the with myself or friends/families. Also, when I am sick, I tend to not be able to focus properly on assignments or if I am stressed out too much it can cause me to lose focus and want to focus on other things than what I have set as goals. Another strategy to help completing school is to disputing negative thinking. Some of things that put me into negative thinking about completing school is getting a bad grade on an assignment or test, getting negative feedback from the instructors and thinking “I’m not smart enough to being going to school.” One of the positive way to overcome these problem is to
