Mod. 6 Team Summary 12-10-15 BEST PRACTICES MATRIX Best Practice Example 1. Involvement of teachers in planning, implementing, and evaluating their own professional development. Offering a large variety of professional development courses and encouraging teachers to attend the ones they are most interested in. At Grove City we also offer “Lunch and Learns” where any teacher can pick up new tools and techniques for teaching. 2. A focus on teaching and learning Grouping teachers with similar subject material into groups and allow for time for them to common plan. Sharing lessons and best practices will make the group better. 3. Integration of professional development goals with school improvement goals Each year our school reviews district and building goals. Each teacher also sets goals for their year. It’s important to not just file any of these away but to revisit them and make sure you are following through on them. 4. Coherence of individual, group, and school wide professional development Have a common theme for meetings throughout the year. This keeps the concepts learned at the forefront of teacher’s minds and reinforces the lesson learned. 5. Administrative support, including provision of time and other resources

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
