5/31/17 1 Diabetes insipidus Condition characterized by excessive thirst and excretion of large amounts of severely diluted urine with reduction of fluid intake having no effect. Several different types of DI, each with a different cause. Most common type is neurogenic DI, caused by a deficiency antidiuretic hormone (ADH).
