Literature Review (LR) For your literature review you are to summarize the main points of Poe’s argument in two double-spaced pages of prose. The general form of the review should answer the question: ‘What, according to Poe is his ‘philosophy’ of composition? How does he define it? What are its essential points?’ You are to imagine you are a reporter seeking to summarize the argument and contents of ‘The Philosophy of Composition,’ such that someone who had not read it would have from your summary a complete picture of what Poe’s essay is all about.
