Yosemite National Park Kennedy Cunningham September 27 2017 Yosemite National Park is one of the world’s most breath taking and captivating occurrences of natural beauty, but is its splendor in danger? Yosemite Park is located in the eastern part of California. It is almost twelve hundred square miles of Sierra Nevada highlands. In 1890, Yosemite was designated a National Park and was set aside for others of all generations to be able to come and admire its beauty and strength. Yosemite National Park is a feast to the eye. Its elevations range from two thousand feet above sea level, rising to over thirteen thousand feet at the tops of its giant spires and domes. Despite all of this, without proper funding and management, Yosemite’s beauty could disappear like the glaciers did that helped form the park. To understand the importance of preserving this park, it might help to know a little of the parks past and what kind of wonders it offers.
