Correlations: Show relationship between 2 variables Medical assessment: Psychiatric interview, medical life history, standard blood test, detailed dental and periodontal exams Psychological assessment: academic ability, personality and interests, family and social relationships, mental and physical health, psychological measurement Genetic characteristics: Leadership ability, imagination, vulnerability to stress, alienation, desire to shun risks Environmental characteristics: aggression, achievement, orderliness, social closeness Conclusions concerning the sources of the psychological differences and behavioral variation between twins: 1. Genetic factors exert a prominent and universal influence on behavioral differences. 2. The effect of being reared in the same home is not that important for many psychological traits Problems with Bochard’s study: media coverage to recruit, ethical concerns about way he reunited twins, no adequate control to establish frequency of contact between twins before the study, cannot assume that twins who are raised together experience the same environment.
