The version of the good life embodied in kourus is one of triumph, self-confidence and power. The marble statue is modelled in a way that displays poise with the head held high. Kourus is standing on his own two feet suggesting he is self-reliant and self-sufficient. While the version of the good life is represented differently by Kevin Connolly and the Alison Laper statue, such that, although they are unable to stand, they still appear confident. They accept what they were born with and they aren’t afraid to show it. Allison Leper demonstrates her confidence in who she is by allowing Marc Quinn to sculpt the statue of her and place it in the large public area that is Trafalgar Square. She is shown nude in the statue, which shows the public the most vulnerable side of herself. However, she is also shown to be pregnant in the statue suggesting that although she is physically impaired in some ways, it doesn’t prevent her from living a good life. Kevin Connolly accepts his disability by choosing to not wear prosthetics, because although
