According to these four works, what does it mean to celebrate? What do people celebrate and how? How does celebrating contribute to the Good Life? How do celebrations contrast with mundane life? How is “celebrating” the Good Life related to “sharing” it? (For example, in what way is celebrating a collective experience? Can you celebrate alone?). What is the role of joy in celebrating? (For example, is a celebration always joyous? What distinguishes joy from fun or other pleasure? How do this week’s authors/artists understand joy?) According to all four works, celebrating means taking a moment of time separate from mundane life and coming together to rest, sing, play or pray in celebration of something bigger. Celebrations can be religious or secular. They can be a celebration of life or death, or important figures in time and life-cycle events. They can be celebrated by means of a musical or theatrical event, large feasts, sporting events, and parades. Celebrating contributes to the good life

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
