1 Introduction Established in 1968, the Brock University Bookstore is a small-size store that sells diversity of books, including reference books on encyclopedias, dictionaries, academic writing guides and so on. It also has some novels, magazines and children’s books available. More importantly, the Bookstore provides professors and students both new and used textbooks on business, history, geography, art, language and philosophy, etc., which is access to the academic functions among the whole campus. For the used textbooks, the store offers the used textbook classified service for students to buy and sell their books. Located on the ground floor of the Plaza Building, the Bookstore is the part of campus serving students and faculty of Brock University. 2 Description of Business The main functions of the Bookstore management system are purchasing books, managing inventories and selling books, especially the textbooks. Every semester, the store will record booklists for different majors according to the academic requirements of specific courses so that the bookstore salespersons can order and purchase the appropriate amount of desired books from their supplies, like the book publishers. Then after collecting moneys for ordered books, suppliers will directly deliver them to the Bookstore.
