HRM 3 1. Abstract Career development has been a factor of consideration that leads to the identification of one’s interest in a particular field. During this period, a person’s work identity that spans across his/her lifetime is realized depending on the earliest successive interests (Bozionelos 2001, p.91). Career development can be seen to occur at any age of a person’s life and is not selective on the age it begins. In addition, establishment of success in a given field will depend on the interest in that given field.

These factors may interact with each other in different levels to initiate an influence in the development of the careers on different individuals. It is also evidenced that these factors will have influence on the type of career one is interested in giving desperation on the vast careers. The scope of career development may be seen mostly among the working class where an individual has an area of specialization in which there is need for development towards the set goals (Chang Boon Lee 2001, p.11). It is imperative for close attention on personality type of a person, interests and other work-related values that will facilitate career development in such individuals. In addition, continuous self-assessment will help in
