Encourage client to keep a journal of sleep times, length of time to get to sleep, times awakened 2. Monitor for sleep apnea or snoring 3. Teach client to limit caffeine and alcohol use 4. Encourage low lights, no electronics, and using “white noise” at bedtime (Ackley & Ladwig, 2014)
