INTRODUCTION: One cannot discuss hunger without its partner in crime poverty. These two things, hunger, and poverty, have been known do some very big damage to many people around the globe. We must look at the effect it has on children. Poverty and Hunger combined can cause multiple effects on children. I’m going to look at the effects they have on one another and how they have affected kids daily lives. Murphy, J. Michael, Wehler, Cheryl A., Pagano, Maria E., Little, Michelle, Kleinman, Ronald E., & Jellinek, Michael S. (1998). Relationship Between Hunger and Psychosocial Functioning in Low-Income American Children. Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, 37 (2), 163-170. Surveys were conducted by the Community Childhood Hunger Identification Project to analyze hunger and poverty. Eight percent of American children were found to experience hunger each year. With research also to find that hunger led to bad behavior while in school, hyperactivity, and absenteeism. I feel
