EVALUATION ESSAY 2death in the United States. More than 50% of the people killed in car accidents were not restrained during these crashes. However, many of the injuries and deaths in these accidents could have been avoided with the use of seat belts. Increased awareness on the significance of wearing a seat belt is very important. Seat belts are necessary and through law enforcement, can protect both children and adults from possible injuries or death when riding in a motor vehicle. Using seat belts while driving significantly reduces the risk of death and serious injury at the time of collision. Drivers or passengers without seat belts on can be easily ejected from the vehicle in a collision, resulting in death or severe injury. People are 30 times more likely to be ejected from a vehicle if they do not wear a seat belt during a crash. The seat belt plays a crucial role in a collision. It secures a person in place, preventing the body from being jerked in differentdirections during a sudden stop or crash. While a seat belt may not fully prevent the body movement, it may reduce the body contact with any hard-interior parts of the vehicle by keeping a person in the same general area of the car. As the result, the seat belt may reduce the impact of
