Luke Bomar, Maurice B., Nic Busch, and Spencer Davis CS 105 Dr. Drachova 5 April, 2016 Wifi Calling has been around for years on applications like skype, oovoo or whatsapp. The most recent and effective improvement of wifi calling came with mobile devices such as Iphone 6 and 6s, s6 edge plus, LG G4, HTC One M9 and the samsung galaxy note 5. Wifi calling is usually used when a device is have trouble sending or receiving cellular signals for an example a building with thick walls people may find it hard to find signal from their devices. If a wifi connection is available a wifi call can be used to either place a call or receive one. Wifi calling is most often used in households across the world. Some business and corporation have even resorted to conducting interviews and conference meeting through the use of Wifi calling. American based cellular companies such T-mobile and Sprint make it available in 120 countries across the world. Whether or not the wifi call is of good quality is depends on your wifi connection. High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) is a term used to the group High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA). High Speed Downlink Packet Access is used to download data and reach between the speeds 3.6 - 7.2 megabits per a second.
