Orientation Definition: An orientation helps acclimate him or her to a new culture (Satterlee, 2013). Orientation programs provide facts concerning pay and benefits and help new employees understand the organizations culture and values (Satterlee, 2013). Satterlee, A. (2013). Organizational Management & Leadership A Christian Perspective (2 nd ed.). Raleigh, NC: Synergistic International. Summary The article, Healthcare Student Social Work Orientation discusses the expectations after a healthcare orientation. The article stated that after the orientation students would be expected to understand their role in the social worker field, value teamwork, the importance of empathy, psychological assessments and the essential roles of supervision and self-care (Rago, 2015). The article was written by a health care student attending the orientation, and their perspective of the orientation. The goal of this specific orientation was to place interns in positions where field placements would be an easy transition and they would be prepared to complete the tasks at hand. The orientation the healthcare students attended lasted 6 hours and was quite intense (Satterlee, 2013). Attending these orientations can give one mixed feelings and excitement. These orientations were set up to provide healthcare students information to help achieve goals and to learn how to provide excellent healthcare to employees.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
