2. A criminal justice system, which is based on sociological explanations would differ from a criminal justice system based on psychological or biological explanations. I will begin by describing the social explanations for criminal behavior. Sociological explanations for crime emphasize the social conditions that exist which influence whether or not on the individual would demonstrate criminal behavior. So a criminal justice system would be based more on reforming the social conditions that are responsible for breeding crime. Such programs would combat the effects of poverty through education and job training, urban development, better health care and economic development. Next I will cover the psychological explanations for criminal behavior. . Psychological explanations for crime emphasize mental processes and behavior of the individual.
