Lauren Monaghan, Tues/Thurs 2-3:15, Paper 1 Jean Piaget (1896-1980) was a Swiss scholar who was known as the “greatest child psychologist”. Piaget focused heavily on how children’s thinking was conveyed at different ages. One thing that set him apart from any other child physiologist is he fact that he was the first to comprehensively study from birth until adulthood. Piaget’s assumption about children was that they are mentally active as well as physically active from birth, and that this activity contributes to their development. Even to this day, Piaget’s theory remains the best-known cognitive developmental theory. The most well known part of his theory focuses on discontinuous aspects, which he depicted as distinct stages of cognitive development (134). Each stage represents a way of understanding one’s experience, and each transition between stages represents a discontinuous intellectual leap from one way of understanding the world to the next, higher one (134).

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
