Format Painter The format painter is used to copy formatting from one place and applies it to another. 1. Select the shape, text, picture, or worksheet with the formatting to be copied 2. Click Home, and in the Clipboard group, click Format Painter. 3. After the pointer changes to a paintbrush, click and drag to select the shape, text, or worksheet cell that needs formatting, then release the mouse button. To copy a format to an entire worksheet, use the the “select all” button at the top left corner of the spreadsheet Slide 2 of 22
Formatting Multiple Worksheets at a Time 1.Select the tabs by left clicking on each one while holding the control key 2.All tabs become active 3.Anything written or formatted the first spreadsheet will be copied to the other ones 4.To ungroup the spreadsheet, click on one tab Caution: Make sure to ungroup the spreadsheet if you want to modify one of them without affecting the others. Inserting Rows & Columns Columns and can be inserted anywhere in Excel. • Excel moves the existing columns to the right and rows one line below to make room for the new one. The Insert command is located in the Cells group ( Home tab). It is also accessible via the Mini Toolbar (right clicking)
Deleting Rows & Columns The procedure is similar to copying Rows and columns, the command used in the Cells group is the Delete command instead.
