The convergance of air into the low of a midlatitude cyclone bring together two unlike air masses 4. Explain where and why precipitation develops within a midlatitude cyclone. precipitation develops where air is rising and cooling adiabatically within a midlatitude cyclone - typically along to cold front, the warm front, and in the center of the low. 5.Describe the process that forms an occluded front. forms when the faster moving cold front catches up with the warm front, lifting all of the warm air mass off the surface. 6. Why is pressure falling as a cold front approaches, and rising as a cold front moves away?
