Travis Murdock BIO 1400 Sep 30, 2017 Dr. Collins Watson XC I enjoyed watching both video interviews provided on Blackboard. I found it fascinating to hear from what seems like polar opposites on the spectrum of religious belief. There were clear differences in the attitudes and perceptions of Dr. Collins and those of James Watson and EO Wilson. I think Dr. Collins explained the state of mind that most atheists are in when he was describing his own experiences in college. He said, “I was comfortable with that because it meant that I wasn’t really responsible for anyone but me.” He was referring to his decision in college to dismiss questions that couldn’t be answered with tangible facts. As he matured, he discovered the “science” of religion if you will, in the writings of C. S. Lewis. Lewis was also outspoken about his atheistic youth before he found the Lord in his adult life. Lewis’ use of rational thought to discern the existence of God is fascinating.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
