COMP2501 FINAL REPORT Part-Time Hero Ernest Law and Clus Ngo Overview We are still going with our original idea which is a top-down view action RPG game called Part-time hero and built the game world with tile engine. It is a game where the player with the power can become the nearby damsel in distress, the player fights the battles for the person that he becomes.

Post-Mortem In our original thoughts, the great thing about Part-Time Hero is the variety of problems that player can encounter throughout the game since each NPC would generate a different mini game. It’s a main reason why this game is being called Part-Time Hero, because you can become the person who is in needed and each different problem will have different kinds of solution like maze solving (we actually have this implement but not fully done so we decided to not put in the final product), answering questions based on given situation.etc. In the final product, there are two changes from our original idea. Firstly, the player does not have lives(not the lives in mini game). Since we think that it would be too difficult to play if the game has both timer and health. Therefore, we decided to keep the timer and remove the health feature. Secondly, instead of giving an inventory for each NPC, we only provide the inventory to the player. For the game feature, we were able to achieve all the required features such as the top- down perspective with a scrolling camera, an inventory and some vehicles. In addition, we have created NPC, house, vehicles, a shooting mini game, item and sound effects for the game. However, we were unable to implement more problems for the player to solve and
