Austin Brown Race & Diversity Venessa J. Lawrence February 18, 2017 Journal Entry #3 On Saturday, February 18 th I was at a party with Temple students on Gratz street. A lot of North Philly has a predominately black population and these couple of blocks specifically is dominated by black residents. I was out with a group of all white kids, including myself, who I do not usually hang out with at this house party that was owned by black students. To get into the party me and my friends were required to pay five dollars which was a bit surprising considering I had only ever payed to get into fraternities. I noticed throughout the night (I was standing towards the entrance) that the people who were throwing the party were only charging white kids
