Weckerly 1 Ryan Weckerly Professor Stein-Savelski ENG 102 March 27, 2016 Annotated Bibliography Kennedy, X.J. and Dana Gioia, eds. Backpack Literature: An Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, Drama, and Writing . 4 th edition. Boston: Pearson, 2011. Print. Tan, Amy, “A Pair of Tickets” Kennedy, X.J. and Dana Gioia “A Pair of Tickets” by Amy Tan is my choice of study for this essay. "Amy Tan’s Biography -- Academy of Achievement." Academy of Achievement. 07 Nov. 2013. Web. 3 June 2014. This article is a biography of the author, Amy Tan, and gives the reader a good understanding of her background and cultural beliefs based on how her and her family were raised. Knowing her full background by reading her biography gave me a better understanding of “A Pair of Tickets” Tan, Amy. “Young Girl’s Wish.” The New Yorker 2 October 1995. 80-9. Print. This magazine article also written by Amy Tan, shares a similar story featuring female protagonists and a death that focuses on the Chinese culture. After researching the book they have many similarities so I thought it was a good reading to compare to “A Pair of Tickets”

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
