Kristina Brem ID:3018162 History of the United States 1301-33411 Lesson #1, Enrichment Idea #1 Why Does History Matter? Why Does History Matter? For my Unit 1 paper, I decided I wanted to elaborate more on Lesson 1, Enrichment Idea 1, “Why Does History Matter?” Amongst the younger generations, the biggest and most common statement that is made is, “History does not matter or, History is irrelevant to my life and career path.” I will even admit to saying it too. It is something that I feel we bypass or just ignore, when in fact, history surrounds us on a daily basis. History alone provides us with an ever growing knowledge of the past. Every day, we are creating a present history that will help us evolve for the future. In my opinion, the past is a mystery that is still being told. History is a series of stories and interpretations that require us to use our imaginations. Scientists, archaeologists and historians to this day, are still uncovering new and ancient artifacts. The past colonies have left evidence of a rural colonization that we have to interpret. The problem they face today, is that the written language was primarily developed with European cultures.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
