After being called in to research Kabalaz Leather Company to see if an update to its current managerial practices is the best way to go. I have found that its managerial practices are a classic example of Theory X as proposed by Douglas McGregor. The management assumes that people dislike work and will avoid work when possible. Those workers of Kalabaz are not ambitious. Those Kalabaz workers avoid responsibility and are not concerned with organizational needs. Those Kalabaz workers must be directed and threatened with punishment to achieve organizational productivity. Those Kalabaz workers are not highly intelligent or capable of organizational creativity. Those Kalabaz workers have difficulty in using human resources. Now seeing that Kalabaz management is a classic example of Theory X I recommend that Kalabaz Leather Company update its managerial style to Douglas McGregor’s Theory Y so that management will realize that people view work as being as natural as play. Kalabaz workers are ambitious and prefer self-direction. Kalabaz
