GREATEST COMMON FACTOR To factor a number means to write the number as the product of two or more numbers For example we will factor the number 12: 12= 6x2
FINDING THE GCF To find the GCF you will need a set of numbers and then will have to factor those numbers For example we will find the GCF of 30,20, and 15 30= 2x3x5 20= 2x2x5 15= 3x5 The highest number that all those factored number have in common is 5
