Theologians discuss the Christology of Christ,( the Christ of Faith) as well as the Soteriology( the work of Christ). How do you understand the "historical Jesus", (the Christ of History, theman who walked the earth) in relation to the Christ of Faith?"(The Christ of faith is the Christyou learned about as a child, who rose to heaven)? The one lived and walked the earth, theother has ascended into heaven. Why is this understanding important?According to the bible, when Jesus was crucified he sacrificed himself for all of humanity. Jesusas the Son of God was human but also a sinless being. He was tempted many times but nevergave into sin. When Jesus was sacrificed, a sinless being died for humanity. In the OldTestament and before Jesus, people had to sacrifice an animal for God to forgive them of theirsins. However, when Jesus died and then was resurrected three days later, he became andeverlasting sacrifice for all of humanity. Humans would no longer have to sacrifice animals,
