Nhien Truong [email protected] Homework #6 (CASE 4.1) 2. I definitely think that outsourcing is an inevitable feature of globalized capitalism and so are sweatshops. Americans do benefit from sweatshops in term of being able to obtain cheaper products, but they do lose out in term of jobs as well; it is quite hard to determine if Americans gain more or lose more when it comes to outsourcing. Outsourcing is definitely something that benefits a lot of poor Americans because products can be obtained for very cheap but at the same time, it is something that also hurt mostly poor Americans since a majority of the jobs that get outsourced are blue collar jobs normally occupied by the poor. It might not be apparent now, but outsourcing will continuously increase over time to the point where unemployment rate will be much higher than it already is right now. I guess if I have to decide, I would say that outsourcing will hurt Americans more in the long-term.
