Sophomore Success Program RWS 290: Business Writing and Rhetoric Department of Rhetoric and Writing Studies San Diego State University San Diego, CA 92118 06 May, 2017 Professor Carl Fielden Department of Rhetoric and Writing Studies San Diego State University 5500 Campanile Drive San Diego, CA 92182-4452 Dear Professor Fielden: Enclosed is our proposal, The Sophomore Success Program, which addresses the academic and student life support initiative that requires non-local sophomores to live on campus, and how the program, as a result, will negatively affect SDSU Greek Life. Given that we are all active members in Greek chapters on the SDSU campus, we understand that the legacy of our SDSU chapters are at great risk of termination, thus this is what catalyzed our proposal. The following pages of this proposal address the background, problem, solutions, and benefits that concern the Greek Life community. This detailed proposal further discusses the problem, the Greek students, non-Greek students, and also the community members who will be affected, and what will negatively happen as a result of this program. Our group has proposed several solutions to resolve this problem, which ensures Greek Life can continue thriving on this campus as they have since 1899. All San Diego State University students will benefit from the proposed solutions, as they will save a tremendous amount of money and gain priceless livelong skills while benefitting the university and the community. We greatly appreciate you considering our proposal. At your convenience, we are available to further discuss any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact us at (619)934-8616. Thank you for your time and consideration while reviewing our proposal. Sincerely, Erica Episcopo Justin Jitpatima Brittany Martin Vanesa Urner
