EngE 1114 Spring 2008 3/5/2008 Page 1 of 2 EngE 1114 - Exploration of Engineering Design Spring 2008 Course Objectives: Having successfully completed this course, the student will be able to: Demonstrate an understanding of the engineering design process Demonstrate a basic level of understanding of project management methods Communicate engineering information in formal written and oral reports Participate in the successful completion of a major group design project Produce and interpret drawings appropriate to various engineering disciplines Analyze and create 2D and 3D sketches to communicate graphically Demonstrate facility with 2D and 3D computer aided engineering software Demonstrate the ability to write and document computer programs for engineering analysis Required Software: Inventor® 2008, MATLAB® 7.0.4, Microsoft Visio 2007 Required Equipment: COE approved Tablet Computer Texts: (2 nd Ed) by C. Dym and P. Little, 2004
