Role Played by the Golden Age in Developing Western Civilization. The modern world civilization can be traced way back in the ancient times. It has been present for centuries. The Western Civilization refers to the modern day society, which is most dominant in the Western Europe and parts of the Northern America. The origin of the civilization of the West can be traced back to the Mediterranean regions during the Golden Age period. Golden Age was crafted from the Greek mythology which offered a description of the decline of the states of man (Meier, 2015). This period occurred after a surprising defeat of the Persian army by the outnumbered Greeks. The war ended a long time strife between Athens and Sparta (Perry, 2015). During this period, there was peace, prosperity, and everything was in abundance. People did not toil to earn their living or acquire food. They lived to old age but maintained their youthful looks. This essay investigates the role played by the Golden Age in developing Western Civilization.
