This battle gave United Sates colonists the confidence needed to be able to fight in the subsequent battles that happened after the Battle at Bunker Hill. Why did the battle on Bunker Hillhappen? Why is this battle important? These question will be answered in my essay.The Battle of Bunker Hill began when the colonists became aware that the British plan to take over Dorchester Heights. The colonists were reasonably upset by this information. They felt that they had to battle the British to protect their land and their freedom. The battle on Bunker Hill actually took place on Breed Hill. This happened because General Prescott fortified Breed Hill by mistake instead of Bunker Hill.
