l Central Claim of Paragraph Structural Move/Action 1 The work of Edward Said is critiqued to be a mixture of politics and academy. His work jumps from topic to topic and is always willing to enter a broader world. A introduction of the writer’s life. Suggest the underlying controversy about the writer’s writing style. 2 There are certain controversies around both Said’s essays and his life. These controversies together raise a question of why would Said, a writer with such incredible talent, “embroil himself in some of the thorniest political issues if his time”? A transition from the introduction to a question. 3 What was the motivation for Said to combine political activism with academics when there was a high “cost” for that? Raised a question about the motivation for the target essayist to employ a certain writing style. 4 Behrends states that Said’s actions can be explained by specifically focusing on the importance of knowledge that can be seen in Said’s works.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
