Tamara King Mary Coyle ENG 101 October 27, 2016 Interview Essay My hands were shaking and I couldn’t stop sweating, I was late. I felt horrible for being late for the interview I set up; I didn’t think I would get out of class so late. When I pulled up to the school I saw Dennis Senkbeil, my high school music teacher, sitting there waiting for me, how embarrassing. I walked toward him waving at him he yelled “Afternoon Ms. King!” I politely said in a quiet voice “Afternoon.” I sat down at the table under the Ramada where he had gestured for me to sit. Thanking him for taking the time for me to interview him, he smiled and said that it wasn’t a problem. Hearing the cars whoosh behind me on the highway I was nervous, I smelt the fresh air and began to ask him if it was all right for me to record and use his name. He said it was fine, at first I thought he was going to be nervous too but he asked me a question, “What is this interview about?” I told him the details of the interview essay and how we could potentially use it in our research paper. He smiled and said “Well I’m happy to help in anyway possible.” I felt a little bit better and not as nervous about the whole thing anymore.
