Paulette Cole Professor Coley Lindsey English 101 June 19,2016 I chose the word Kindness. Kindness comes from the Greek word Chrestoles and it means to show kindness or to be friendly to others. Anyone who demonstrates this quality is considered compassionate, considerate, humane, kind, and gentle. Kindness is also known as a virtue and in many religions and cultures it is recognized as a value. To be kind is to have concerns for others and helping others without wanting or expecting anything in return. Today we live in a world where kindness is very rare. It is a world full of judgement and hatred and could use a little bit of kindness, whether it’s a helping hand or simply a smile. Kindness is free and it doesn’t cost a pretty penny to be kind. Yes, it may require a person to sacrifice some time and energy but the rewards can be priceless.
