When the Guardsmen shot and killed four Kent State students the campus came the spot of a nation that was already deeply divided by the Vietnam War. By the time it was 1970 thousands of American Citizens were protesting the Vietnam War. Reasons Why There were plenty of reasons why these protest were going on. One of the reasons was because President Lyndon B. Johnson misled the United States people about the Gulf of Tonkin, this act led U.S involvement in Vietnam in late 1964. Another reason, the ending of the deferments, which this previously had exempted most college students from the draft and service in the Vietnam War. This act further contributed to the protests. Final reason for the protesting at Kent State. The U.S military was bombing and sending U.S troops to Cambodia, a neighboring country of North and South Vietnam. This led to the increase of U.S casualties, which further angered the people in America.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
