Neoclassical o Truth=the universal, what is the same in all times and all places ( Death of Sophocles ) o They showed things in the view as what they thought things should be through the art Romanticism o Truth=the infinite variety of the Universe o Interested in this wild dark entity in the art o Not necessary what you are looking at the everyday life Realism/Naturalism o Truth= what can be observed with the 5 senses o Focused on things around everyday life o Attempting to depict things that are in real life o “taking a sample of everyday life
