It is no secret that every country worldwide does not have the same luxuries that are afforded to us as American citizens. More often than not countries are underdeveloped leaving many people all over the globe without basic necessities to sustain a well-nourished or lush lifestyle. The basic necessities to live such as food, water, and adequate shelter are not as easily attained, which is something we often take for granted. Two ways that we can tell how a country is doing is by looking at the Crude Death Rate and the Infant Mortality Rate. Crude death rate is “…the average number of deaths during a year per 1,000 population at midyear” (CIA, 2017) Infant mortality rate is “Infant mortality rate compares the number of deaths of infants under one year old in a given year per 1,000 live births in the same year. This rate is often used as an indicator of the level of health in a country.” (CIA, 2017) According to the CIA’s website, the worst rated country for having a crude death rate of 14.9 is Lesotho which is located in Central Africa. The infant mortality rate of Lesotho is 47.6 deaths to 1,000 live births rating it at number 38 on the list. 51.2/1,000 of the infant deaths are males while 43.8/1,000 are females.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
