Points to Ponder Chapter 3 1. Why is it so important to design the physical environment of a bar with a particular type customer in mind? There are different types of clientele. If the owner of the bar wants to attract sports fans, they will decorate with sports memorabilia, if the owner wants to attract “Baby Boomers” they will serve food and drinks at somewhat high pace with bold flavors in both the food and drinks served. 2. In a few words describe the colors, lighting, sound level and types of furnishings you might use to set the mood in (A) a casual, family restaurant that includes liquor sales, (B) A Latin dance club and (C) prestigious resort hotel. (A)With a casual family restaurant I would use warmer tones on the walls and furnishings to help make it feel like home. I would also have quite music playing so families can have conversations without having to yell over the music. Well place TVs would also be placed around the bar to show sports games as well as the local news.
