ELLEMENTS OFA MARKETING PLAN 2 Explain what the specific key environmental forces are that created an opportunity for your company. The company I choose is Amtrak, I choose them because I work for them. The specific key environmental forces that created an opportunity for my company is the need to travel from one place to the next safely and efficiently. Walking in a lot of cases from state to state is not an option and driving can be a hassle with traffic, tolls and time, especially if there is a long distance between the two points. Identify if there have been changes in the purchasing patterns of your organization's target market in recent years. There hasn’t been too much change in the purchasing pattern of the organization target market in recent years but they have made changes in the corporate strategy and objectives with a mission to deliver intercity transportation with superior safety, customer service and financial excellence. In order for Amtrak to reach the goals they have set they have developed a clear and focused strategy that consists of three major components: 1. Change Agenda – Our strategy begins by defining the specific changes we need to make in order to improve our overall performance. This “Change Agenda” serves as a compass for decision-making and future strategy formulation.
