Review: Paragraph A paragraph is an organized group of sentences (around 3-6) that express only one main idea. Each paragraph has: 1) A TOPIC SENTENCE – Says what the paragraph is about. What is the main idea? 2) Supporting sentences -- Explains, proves, or argues for why the main idea in the topic sentence is true. 3) Concluding Sentence – Finishes the paragraph. Restates what the paragraph proved.

TOPIC SENTENCE: Bananas aren’t only delicious candybars that grow on trees – they are also one of the world’s healthiest fruits. SUPPORTING SENTENCES: #1) -- First, bananas are great for heart health. One medium banana has 400mg of potassium, which fights heart disease by lowering blood pressure. #2 -- Also, bananas are great for athletes who want to do their best at sports. One 2012 study found that eating a banana was just as good as drinking an energy drink like Gatorade during a three-hour bicycle race. CONCLUDING SENTENCE: Overall, it seems eating a banana every day is a great way to stay healthy !

Altogether, these negative effects of smoking make cigarettes a serious health risk. Cigarettes are one of the leading causes of death around the world.
