What is the ostensible purpose of the supplier scorecard at Metalcraft? Is (1) Metalcraft need supplier scorecard to reduce low defect rate, which means supplier scorecard can help to improve product’s quality. (2) The scorecard can track the supplier’s information, so Metalcraft can make decisions on time. (3) Scorecard also help to improve the delivery performance. The goal of the Metalcraft is making profits. Profits=Revenue-Costs. So there are two ways to improve profits: 1. Increasing revenue. 2. Reducing costs. Actually, the scorecard helps Metalcraft to check out the materials from suppliers, so it can reduce the costs from suppliers. On the other hand, scorecard can help to supervise the products manufacture. Good-quality products are accepted by buyers which means the revenues of Metalcraft increase. So the profits increase. The scorecard helps Metalcraft to achieve this goals.

Strengths: (1) The scorecard classified the supplier performance metrics into: quality, timing, and delivery. According to this full-scale assessment, Metalcraft can find the most satisfied supplier. (2) Because of the strict standard of evaluation, the quality of products can be improved.
