Glenndell Threatt Jr. FLC2 - KCP Task 1 A) In using differentiated Instruction for the current English assignment, I would revise the Independent homework assignment of writing an editorial on truth in political advertisement. The assignment would read: Give an oral or video recorded report 3-4 min. in length – explaining why or why not people should believe political ads (discuss the use of both words and images used to influence voters). Use at least three pieces of evidence to support your conclusion. Due to his noted difficulty with written language expression I feel this revision would benefit him. His IEP notes, that his written expression is below grade-level expectations, he struggles with spelling, punctuation and grammar, verified by his test results from the Woodcock-Johnson IV Tests of Achievement. His IEP also notes that his vocabulary is average for his age, that he has appropriate verbal abilities and a grade-appropriate spoken vocabulary. B) In the general education teachers Instructional Plan: Independent student practice (small groups), I would recommend that the general education teacher place Michael in a small diverse group that includes some of the stronger students in the classroom. B-1) Justify your recommendations- Because Michael is more of an auditory learner at this point due to his deficiency in reading and writing, I feel he would benefit from the revised homework assignment (A) if allowed to give an oral or video report, instead of the written editorial assignment. Auditory learners give oral reports. (Wesebly, 2014) Differentiation of product refers to how a student shows what he or she has learned. Example: when doing a book report some may write a report; some may give an oral report and others may design a video of what they learned about the story. If the student has difficulty expressing themselves in writing, then the teacher should accept alternate forms of a report. (Bullock, n.d.). (B) With this recommendation I feel that being in a small group with stronger students would help him. Sometimes this works very well because the stronger students are willing to share their knowledge

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
