Unit 7 Discussion Topic 1 Kimberly Thompson LS501: Ethics and The Professional Practicum This week, your instructor will divide you into two groups and assign a controversial topic for debate. You will be assigned the “pro” or “con” position on the issue. During Unit 7, you will research and locate at least five (5) sources to support your position on the issue and discuss the topic and research with your group on the Discussion Board in preparation for the Unit 8 Seminar. In the Unit 8 Seminar, your group will formally debate the opposing group on the issue. There are a variety of ways you can collaborate and present your group's argument for or against the issue. For example, you may choose a group leader to present initially or may divide out particular arguments among the group. As part of this practicum, you will receive a grade in Unit 7 for your Discussion Board collaboration with your classmates. In Unit 8, you will receive a grade for your participation in the Seminar debate and will be asked to submit a 1–2 page paper setting out your group's position on the topic and analyzing your supporting research. The practicum paper is due at the end of Unit 8 .

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
