Sunqi Hannaan ADI Lab Report Linda Jasmine Rosita We have been studying osmosis in class. At the beginning, we figured out what scientific method, selective permeability, homeostasis, osmosis, hypotonic solutions and hypertonic solutions. Raisins have a semi-permeable skin and contains little water on the inside. Hypertonic solutions often have low concentration on the inside of the cell and a high concentration outside of the cell, causing the water to move into the cell to balance it out. Our goal for this investigation was to determine whether salt would cause the water to move into the raisins and swell, move out of the raisins or have no effect on the raisins, causing them to stay the same. The guiding question was what effect if any, does salt have on the movement of water into the raisins. In order to gather the data for this lab, we needed to figure out our method to complete this lab. We started off with gathering our 21 raisins, then separating them into three equal groups of 7. We then weighed each group and recorded the data for group one, two and the

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
