AP Physics: 2012-2013 Mr. Roberts Chagrin Falls High School AP Physics is a college level systematic introduction to the main principles of physics. It emphasizes the development of PROBLEM- SOLVING ability. The math needed is algebra and basic trig. The laboratory will also be utilized to enhance understanding. Lab reports will be stressed. All students must take the AP exam. The exam is extremely rigorous and covers the following areas: Mechanics 35% Chapters 1 – 7, 13 Fluid Mechanics & Thermal Physics 15% Chapters 9 – 12 Electricity & Magnetism25% Chapters 15 – 20 Optics and Sound 15% Chapters 22 – 24, 14 Modern Physics 10% Chapters 27 – 30 Materials: The following items are needed and are expected to be in
