Although slot machines have a large spread of influence and are seen in many casinos and clubs worldwide, there has also been a large amount of criticisms for them. Among these include that slot machines create pathological gamblers out of people that would have not otherwise been gamblers. This claim is null however, as the percentage of the population that are pathological gamblers has not risen with the rise of slot machines. Some also claim that the exceedingly large jackpots entice people to play when they should not be or would not be otherwise. Alternatively, some argue the smaller jackpots trick people into staying longer than they should. These also are not necessarily true because the amount that people have spent has not really gone up when adjusted with
