ADULT LEARNING THEORY AND TRAINING 2 Adult Learning Theory and Training As learners, adults have some special needs which young students do not have. Such needs to be considered when planning and training adults. According to adult learning theory, there are six principles of adult learning. Adults are trained in various fields. From the six principles developed by Malcolm Knowles, it is evident that training adult learners are a complex exercise that requires the trainer to consider several aspects (Kenner & Weinerman, 2011). For instance, from the six principles, it is clear that adult learners are always ready to learn because they know why they need to know something. Besides being experienced in areas that they are studying among others factors, motivation is one of the factors that drives the training of adults.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
