Reflection-Intimacy This week I chose an article titled “How to build intimacy in any relationship” by Tina Su. The article is about doing a daily routine in any relationship from romantic to friendship. The author suggests that we should do a Wins and Realization every day with the other person. Basically just setting aside time to talk about your day, was it good, was it bad, did you learn something new or come to a realization about something. Our textbook talks about intellectual sharing I think that this is a great example of that. Being able to tell the other person your thoughts and feeling throughout the day and engage in conversation with them. This exercise also leads to self-disclosure. You are able to learn about the other person's day, maybe things they generally wouldn’t tell you or anyone else. And lastly I think this exercise is cathartic and allows for relationship maintenance and enhancement, a few of the benefits of self-disclosure.
